Looking in the mirror today, I cringed.
When I feel particularly tired, I notice fine lines, I notice the imperfections, the tiredness. The bags under my eyes. The hair sprouting out of my chin. (kidding, but it's only a matter of time, this I know) Yikes! Tweezers, stat!
But seriously, aging sucks. We don't feel older inside. We just look it outside. To me this says one glorious thing;
The soul is eternal.
Yup.
Pretty profound statement. But true....

How else could one still feel young inside, but look older outside? Hmmm? Explain that one to me! I am off to sleep now. Welcome home Sedona ladies, I hope you enjoyed meeting each other, and the glorious desert! Sleep well all other blogging friends, I will visit you all this week with comments, (even though I read without commenting, I say this to alleviate my conscience, but it is entirely true), and to those trying desprately (lol!) to email me, it has been resolved. I fixed (husband actually) the problem.
Nighty night loves, hope you are all well and happy in your lives.
xoxo

Did you get a crazy message this past weekend? Cell phone?
Honey...I know ALL about the old on the outside, young on the inside and YES it sucks!
You have a WAYS to go and somehow I don't think you will ever look old!
XOXOXOXO
p.s. wish you'd been there!
Young on the outside is great until things on the inside starting going bad. Interesting post.
You've hit the nail on the baby's bottom, Mz. Djilliawnia. That splains everything. I was wondering why I ached today but still wanted candy.
I must protest, though. Unless you are photoshopping those purported lines and wrinkles out, I must object to your self assessment.
Sweet dweems, fair Wadey.
I know we're Latinas, but please, let's not get hair on our chins!! I know the soul is eternal (LOVED that statement!), but God, PLEASE, don't give us chin hairs!!
Have a good night, Blue. I've seen pics and YOU don't have to think about the effects of aging for a long time. By the time you notice the first wrinkle, you'll have a nice spa cream for it, I'm sure. :)
I think the email thing was the internet providers fault as I had probs too.
Whiskers on the chinny chin chin...oh! yes I know all about those...lol
xx
Sigh...yes, I'm waging war with superstrong grey hairs. But you are right, our age on the outside often doesn't reflect the young spirit on the inside. It's a good thing to discover, isn't it? :)
Blue,
You are a vision of lovleyness I know thats not a word but it fits. I like the soul statement so right on. I always feel 25 on the inside so I know what you mean. You have years to come to grips with the aging thing. We thought of you in Sedona, we all thought you were Kai's surprise guest. You would have loved it.

Getting older....harsh reality....I don't think I would ever go back though :o)
Ah-ha! So I'm not the only one. Whew, I was afraid my computer was going to die on me. I keep cleaning it up but I know the time for ARGH! replacement is coming. I still feel about 19 on the inside, some days even 20. I still don't know that old lady in the mirror.
I remember when I turned 30 and spotted several gray hairs - I thought that was the end of the world. Now, it doesn't bother me that much. But I know exactly what you are saying. I also feel like a little girl inside. Great post :)
oh thanks!
i'll take it nice and green...
yeah, the soul is eternal, but our point is to make this soul's temple beautiful, so, am waiting for your next Wednesday wellness post...
I agree Blue,
the outside may age (and decay)
but the inside seems ageless ...
I still feel 20 or 30 inside
though the outside shows signs of the sum of both
Da blog is looking beautiful Gillian and I love the banner you've made.
Aging...ah well...as long as I have my tweezers, I'm good!!!
But yes...you are so right about the soul..and it has done my soul good to read that today!! thank you for the gentle, sweet reminder!! xo
Dear Blue,
Your blog looks great and so do your photo's in your etsy shop!! Congrats.
Thinking of you.
love,
Constance
ps. It's good to make friends with wrinkles.
Oh I love what Constance just said "it's good to make friends with wrinkles" ...so true actually.
I'm always in admiration (and my boyfriend as well) in front a friend of mine - ex-model- who never gave a damn about putting cream on her face and says her wrinkles tell the story of her adventures, joys, sadness..
Sweet dreams !!!!
Dear Everyone;
I just know in my heart of hearts that you are all right!
I never EVER judge anyone with a wrinkle or two; only myself. It is only when you feel particularly run down or tired that you pick yourself apart. I likely look exactly the same as on the days that my energy is up and I feel good about myself. I just view the wrinkles differently on those days.
And yes, I have lots of friends with wrinkles!!! I plan to make many more friends with wrinkles too.
It's funny, when people come to my spa and say "Can you get rid of my wrinkles?" I just laugh! "Why would you want to?" I ask!!! (For life goes not backwards, nor tarries with yesterday! Right, Kahlil? xo)
To you who are forever moving forward, tink! May your outlooks be as rosy as your cheeks.
xox
Tee heeeee!!!!!!
Pull the other one Gill ;) (Hang on do you guys have that statement in Canada LOL... it means pull the other leg)
You look more beautiful, more radiant in every pic I see of you.
As for lines on the face... they're earned... they just mark the place where smiles have been...
Love and laughter to you and the family by beautiful friend,
M
My beautiful friend...not by beautiful friend LOL!
Yup, it does suck but it beats the heck outta the alternative right?
Love,
Sue
I know we are our own worst critics, Gil, but you truly are beautiful inside and out.
I turned 44 this year, and though I don't mind the wrinkles so much, I just hate the feeling that I'm running out of time! :)
Dear Gil,
A ha! A Moroccan lantern:)
Just wanted to say congrats on your TV gig!!!! Super exciting!!! Yay, paparazzi:)
I'm glad you said that, our souls are eternal. I can sleep better tonight :)
I wish you moments when you look in the mirror and see what i see, a gorgeous, loved, sassy beautiful woman.
